After graduating from The Hague’s Royal Academy of Art in 2012, David Laport gained extensive media coverage for his windblown collection, and he used that momentum to kickstart his career. His brand’s aesthetic is one of modern classic silhouettes, which contemporize the female form. The cut and fit of a garment takes centre stage, and this form-following approach lends itself very well to bespoke tailoring. Specializing in women’s wear, Laport draws inspiration from experimental female silhouettes. In July 2017, Laport won the prestigious European Woolmark Prize in Milan.
