Françoise Oostwegel is born in the Netherlands and lives in Maastricht. Her creations are inspired by retro design and artefacts. By applying out-of-the-ordinary materials and colours, she reinvigorated them; she recycles old materials and products by giving them a second life.
LAMP ZUID tells the story of the southern Dutch province, Limburg. I’ve been inspired by the characteristics of the province such as the houses and the miners. The combination of materials such as oak veneer with the glossy finish of copper creates an attractive look. The copper also gives dynamic reflections of light. It’s a timeless design with multiple functions. You can choose any composition because of the geometric octagonal shape of the design. The lamp can be used as a pendant lamp, table lamp or wall lamp.
