HOLLANDSCHE WAAREN

HOLLANDSCHE WAAREN
Hollandsche Waaren is a Dutch design label by Anne-Marie Jetten. All product designs are inspired by typical Dutch symbols and elements, but with a contemporary twist. The entire collection, with many original series, is based on the elements which the Dutch are famous for: Delftblue, windmills, clogs, miniatures depicting Dutch spells. Hollandsche Waaren also has collections ranging from The Biscuit collection, to the more recently designed products of The Artist Homage collection.
The idea to work with something so typically Dutch arose after a trip to Japan in 2001. There, it became clear how everyone is influenced by unconscious clichés when visiting a country. By featuring the iconic Delft Blue elements into cups and bowls the context of the miniature being a souvenir is removed, while still grasping its typical Dutch character.
