Studio hARTe – a clash of paintings and sculptures
Marit Harte is a 27-year-old, full-time abstract artist from the Netherlands, specializing in monochrome 3D sculpted paintings with a unique and self-thought technique that visualizes the 5 elements of nature; earth, water, fire, air, and space. It's a repetitive process of building thin layers from mixed materials - including plaster, acrylic sealant and foam - sculpting, drying and sanding. Since the launch of Studio hARTe in the Spring of 2021 she has hung her art with clients across the globe from Dubai to Sydney, Stockholm and Los Angeles. By meticulously crafting truly one-of-a-kind artworks in the near Amsterdam-based studio, she aims to celebrate individuality and raise environmental awareness.
“I draw stimulus from the natural world, its fragility and unparalleled strength, from the forces of nature to biomimicry and from climates to cymatics. Constantly driven to evolve from the previous pieces, I seek the unknown and aim to evoke a sense of wonder that extends the imagination. All forces of nature influence the layering process and generate charming little imperfections and color variations. A sense of organic presence that emerges from the lightness and unpredictability of the mixed ingredients is at the core of each piece.” – Marit Harte, Founder & Creator Studio hARTe
