Designer Tim van de Weerd (1982) specializes in bringing together the unexpected and the recognizable. A process is not available: that's what it's about. Every piece of furniture or object must appeal to the imagination and play with expectations; the visual language must always be recognizable and surprise. Tim's designs always have an openness. They are direct and sincere, elegantly elegant. And therefore always very accessible. An error is made by a fine, subtle tension. It comes through the game with the imagination, the refined details and the unexpected use of materials. The fascination remains the same: the design intrigues and lasts. As with the Monstera and Carnivora: Plant pots with a special, modern design.
Tim is inspired by the richness of nature and traditional production techniques. Within his work he always looks for beauty, tranquility and authenticity. The work of Tim is exhibited at the Dutch Design Week and by Lidewij Edelkoort. His work has been very well received in the international press and has also been shown during the London Craft Week, in the concept store Arnhem Coming Soon and in the Dutch Design Hotel Artemis in Amsterdam. Tim previously obtained his Master's degree in Interior Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Karls and Brands landscape architects as well. Since 2011 he has been an automatic designer.
