X BANK is proud to present the exhibition
‘Lost in Time' by Dutch photographer Annelies Damen
opening May 17th, 17:30.
The series consists of a number of black and white and soft colour photographs in large format,
shot in the oldest museum in Amsterdam, the ARTIS-Groote Museum. At this moment the building is
being restored and renewed. The exhibition Lost in Time shows a special meeting between people and architecture.
In this new series from Damen the leading lady gets out of her conventional
environment and considers where she wants to go.
She finds renewed freedom without the pressure of time or her environment.
Her answers come and float in this beautiful old room.
Annelies Damen (1968) is a photographer and travels
around the world for the family business. She prefers Africa for her photography.
Central to her photographs is the woman and her surroundings or story.
The work of Annelies is exhibited in New York, Paris, Milan, London, Miami and Amsterdam and are available in various art collections.
In 2017 she received the Business Woman Of The Year award
together with her sister Roos Damen. This American award is presented
annually by the magazine 'Entreprising Women'. In November 2017,
during TEDxAmsterdamWomen, she held a TedTalk about her career switch
and her passion for photography
All works are on show and for sale at X BANK till the 15th of July.
