Natan Collective at X BANK
On 6 February, we will celebrate the opening of the first Dutch edition
of the Natan Collective exhibition, on view at X BANK for six weeks.
Natan Collective is the result of a collaboration between the Belgian
couture house and six up-and-coming Dutch photographers, who were
commissioned to visualize a couture look by Natan in their own way.
Natan Collective is an initiative by Edouard Vermeulen, creative director
of Natan. For each edition, Natan Collective reaches out to emerging
artists from different disciplines. Three Belgian editions have already
taken place. The fourth will be in the Netherlands.
"Every time I visit the Netherlands I am overwhelmed by the large number
of young artists and creatives", says Vermeulen. "I am therefore delighted
to be able to organize a Natan Collective here".
Together with agency Initials L.A., Natan has selected six emerging Dutch
photographer— Lisette Appeldorn, Debbie Trouerbach, Myrthe Giesbers,
Alexander Sporre, Chloe Leenheer and Tarona—to interpret his couture
designs. A jury will judge their work and choose a winner from the six,
who will receive a cash prize to further develop his or her talent.
Natan was founded in 1930 by couturier Paul Natan and has been led
by Vermeulen since 1983. Vermeulen's designs are loved by international
royals, including the Belgian Queen Mathilde and the Dutch Queen Máxima.
