Last Thursday, on the eve of the Amsterdam Gay Pride
we celebrated our latest exhibition and the Dutch premiere
of ‘Corpus Dei’ by photographer Sabrina van den Heuvel.
The series of photographs connects visual art,
fashion and poetry to a total concept.
Just like in Sabrina's earlier photo project, "Van Gogh Black & White", emotional issues such as ecstasy, happiness and longing play a big part in Corpus Dei. Sources of her inspiration were intimate poems by Michelangelo, dedicated to his lover, and the fascinating dark-light contrasts of Caravaggio.
