For INSIDE X BANK we ask Dutch designers five questions.
For this edition, we met up with Matthieu Jansen,
founder of beanie brand Le Bonnet
Le Bonnet was born in Paris and designed in Amsterdam. Anywhere, anytime, any occasion
is what the brand stands for. Chique or street. The high quality level fabrics that are used
speak for themselves by using only locally sourced and produced Scottish garments.
Le Bonnet stands for high-end quality clothing with a sophisticated look and feel.
We spoke to founder Matthieu Jansen.
Who is your favourite X BANK designer, and why? (besides yourself of course)
I really like David Laport. His designs are extremely beautiful.
What does it mean for you as a designer to have your products/collection at X BANK?
I feel honoured to be surrounded by so many great Dutch brands. It is nice to showcase the product in
such a nice shop where Dutch finest brands are represented.
What is in your opinion typical for Dutch art, fashion and design?
For both art, fashion and design I think innovation and creativity is always key. Vincent van Gogh,
Mondriaan and Viktor & Rolf are great examples.
What made you decide to establish Le Bonnet?
For one simple reason. I really struggled finding a good beanie. So, I decided to make one myself,
with the correct composition of fabrics and fit. Now we are able to serve everyone with a perfect beanie!
Are you thinking about expanding Le Bonnet with perhaps, summer items?
Yes, we are now in the development stage. We do not want to spoil the surprise just yet but it will come soon.
