About Artist Portraits

‘’What really intrigues me about the concept of public domain is how our seemingly objective living environment, on closer inspection, has a very strong guiding effect. And behind this lies a certain political or marketing strategy.’’ –Roberto Voorbij

Identity, commerciality and public spaces are major themes in Voorbij’s Artist Portraits. In all of the portraits, Voorbij takes a photographic portrait of a famous artist and replaces their face with one of their most notable artworks. He constantly attempts to surprise viewers.
