The submissions are now open for the 17th annual Dutch Design Awards.
This October, the Dutch Design Awards (DDA) will host their 17th annual award show, where they honour the very best in Dutch design. DDA is a part of Dutch Design Foundation, which also hosts the annual Dutch Design Week. Their award branch, DDA, looks for talent that distinguishes itself through relevance and impact, both within its own field as well as wider society. Submissions close on 17 April, and you can submit your work here.
The jury selects three nominations per category based on the open applications and scouted work. They then select a winner in each category. In doing so, they assess how a design relates to Dutch society in the broadest sense of the word: economically, socially, culturally and intrinsically. The jury use the following overarching criteria: impact, distinctive character, expressiveness and production method. The six main award categories are Product, Fashion, Habitat, Communication, Design Research and Service & Systems. Young designers can also sign up for the Young Designer Award, and clients can register for the Best Commissioning Award.
We’re looking forward to seeing the nominees 23 May. And at X BANK, we are always seeking to connect with new, emerging Dutch design talent. Get in touch if you are interested in collaborating with us.
