Fleur Ouwerkerk is a visual artist whose work explores the relationship between identity, ethnicity, and appearance through mixed media, including photography, drawings, and wearable art pieces.
Ten years ago, when first shaved off her long hair, Fleur got in touch with the role and significance that hair plays in how people perceive beauty and femininity. This experience marked the beginning of her fascination and appreciation for hair and resulted in the creation of her wearable art pieces—synthetic hair pieces that can be worn as jewelry, to experience hair as a material in a different way, no matter your hairstyle.
